Kiva is an international, "non-profit" organization. The point of the organization is to connect entrepreneurs in impoverished areas to lenders. The lenders pick an organization to give to and send a minimum dollar amount of 25$. The whole production is based around micro-loans. A micro-loan is a small sum of money lent at low interest to a new business. Directly from the website it says, "100% of every dollar you lend on Kiva goes to funding loans. Kiva covers costs primarily through optional donations, as well as through support from grants and sponsors." Which means peopler getting all the money people are sending them but they need more money because cgdev.org stated, "Less that 5% of Kiva loans are disbursed after they are listed and funded on Kiva's site.
