The roots of Greek Culture are based on the interactions of the Mycenaeans, Minoans, and Dorians.

Location:
-bad land for farming
-fewer resources
-sea fairing people
-Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea, Adriatic Sea, Peloponnesus, Athens, Sparta, Crete, Asia Minor, Macedonia.
-2,000 islands in Ionian Sea
-Combination of many sailors and ship builders and farmers.
-difficult because of terrain
-poor/limited resources which made them have the need to trade
-they developed small independent communities called "city states"
-53,818 square miles in size which is smaller then North Carolina
-close to the size of New Jersey
-Small in size but huge in influence .
