We are currently watching a movies on the Greeks. The greek had mighty warships they had great achievements that still shape our world.

Athens was more of a village style town it was built around the acropolis. Life expectancy was short the life in ancient Greece was brute and extremely tough. Athens was in a sense turned against itself. The general had no part or share in anything. Greek does not have unity that is normally associated with great ancient civilizations. Landscape was full of mountain ranges. One city state had military power, Sparta. The spartans were Brought from birth to be soldiers raised in there field structured around discipline and war. They had no comforts and few possessions only clothes and weapons. Cleisthenes had an unlikely beginning for a man that would set Greece on the path to an empire. The country had 100's of traveling story tellers. The two most famous stories are the Iliad and the oddest composed by homer. Telling of epic battles and heroes and full of mythical figures who where known for strength and honor. Athena demanded that he was given the rule of Athens she was just a pretty girl from a near by village. Greece is in the middle of a grouping of great civilizations: Persians, Egyptians, and romans. The pottery was not a big deal in its own time but the things in it where very important. If you are a potter you were the "scum" of society but was a staple of society. The design was always simple. The greeks had tasted freedom and shown there capacity for extraordinary achievement. 514 bc hippias brother was murdered. Hippias executed the murders and torcheres their wives. The heroes need to succeed to and strike at the same time. Hippotite was banished from Athens forever. Olympia and Southern Greece men would come to complete in the beginning of the olympics. The first target was the aristocrats mostly Cleisthenes. Over 700 house holds were cast out of Athens 700 house holds were cleaned out. How could Athens escape from this pointless cycle of violence. The ordinary people of Athens took there destiny into there own hands rising up in revolution. Asagris blockaded themselves ontop of the highest place in Athens for two days and two night until the fourth day he was forced to surrendered. This is when they came to the year 508 for the first time in recorded history the people had seized control from their leaders. The athenians turned to one man Cleisthenes. Reveloutionly goverment situation to a new type of government. Citizens could finally address there own citizens. Cleisthenes institutetud voting through rocks. A system of goverment we now know as democracy. Athenian demcoracy makes the citizen feel empowered that they can make an actual difference in Greek society.
