rants

WE watched more of the video today by Hans Rowling and how he compares countries by life expectancy and average income.  It took 50 minutes of class to get to through a five minute video.  It was very frustrating because someone had something to say every 2 seconds literally.  I also had something to say all class long but Mr.Schick never called on me so I will just write it in here: When Brought up the topic of :why do rich people not just give some of there money since they have so much money?  I thought some of the answers were a little rude and blunt to be perfectly honest.  I wanted to say you cannot categorize all the underprivileged and impoverished into the category of lazy or they didn't try.  Because it is super hard to break a cycle.  Many underprivileged or "poor" people were brought up and born into that situation and they have to work 10x harder to get by at the least.  Some people do put themselves in bad situation's to get poor.  But I believe everybo

Populations Pyramids, Videos, and Graphs

Today we reviewed populations pyramids AGAIN.  We also talked about their relativity to industrialism. First we watched a TED.ed video that talked about the kind of information that you can gather from population pyramids and how they help to for see the population in the future.  It also briefly talked about how how pre, current, and post industrialized nations pyramids are effected differently because of industrialism.  Countries go through stages of development which also effects the pyramids. Demographic Transition- starts as a pre-industrial economy and then moves into an industrial economy and then a postindustrial economy. Industrialization- countries that have started producing goods through mass production in factories  and work at a faster rate. The effects of industrialism is people moving out of rural areas in to urban areas.  Also, the total fertility rate is lower because more women get jobs and don't have time to have kids.  Another thing that happens is t

Going over the Test

Today in class we reviewed our tests.  It was the best grade I have gotten all year.   Are whole class did very good on the test because the class average was a 98.  This probably because we were given the opportunity to get a 104on the test.  We reviewed all the answers in class.  Madison brought in goldfish.  It was very hard to come back to school today.  The hardest part was definitely waking up.   I was so tired and it was cold outside all I wanted to do was stay in bed.  All I will be looking forward to in the next couple of weeks is going to North Carolina and Florida.  I will start a countdown on my blog once we reach December.  Also I am going to the basketball game tonight which I am excited about and soccer practice.  I am leaving school early to go to the chiropractor I am excited.  Because my back feels a lot better when I go.
Kiva is an international, "non-profit" organization.  The point of the organization is to connect entrepreneurs in impoverished areas to lenders.  The lenders pick an organization to give to and send a minimum dollar amount of 25$.  The whole production is based around micro-loans.  A micro-loan is a small sum of money lent at low interest to a new business.  Directly from the website it says, " 100% of every dollar you lend on Kiva goes to funding loans. Kiva covers costs primarily through optional donations, as well as through support from grants and sponsors."  Which means peopler getting all the money people are sending them but they need more money because  cgdev.org stated, "Less that 5% of Kiva loans are disbursed  after  they are listed and funded on Kiva's site.  Sorry I didn't have a lot of time to write this I just saw the email.

whirl wind

Today I could have died. That really put my whole day in perspective.  I had a million things to do today.  Not one included getting hit.  I had a million things running through my mind.  Not one was that it could my last day alive.  Today I got a big reality check, I literally had a life shaking moment.  My Life was taken completely out of my control. My morning started busy, normally it does.  My sisters getting ready the kitchen is always loud with people cooking and cleaning.  This morning though we weren't even leaving in a hurry.  On the way to school we talked about the excitement of the break.  My little sisters were in the back singing to songs with me and my Dad.  We sat a stop light on the hill.  I heard my dad scream my name.  I have never heard him yell it so loud.  My life was literally shaken, I felt hit harder then ever before, I went forward and my hands hit the windshield, I went backward my neck snapped back.  My Dad's coffee spilled everywhere his phone

Pretty Boring Day

Today we kept presenting group projects which was fine.  Also it was my week to bring in food so that was good and I got my presentation over.  Also that brought my grade up to an A so that is super exciting.  All my grades are on the up and up if you are wondering.Today I went to track and field it was very tiring because we ran hills but the end was easy so that was good.  I can't wait till we have our first meet.  Right now I am playing lacrosse, soccer, and track.  It is very overwhelming.  I am out here though surviving on good vibes.  Tomorrow I have a test.  Nothing much else was very exciting. EXCEPT for English we are doing an acting project and it is literally so fun and I am so exciteddddd.  I am playing a boy and my group is a very serious group of talented actors I am sure we will get an A!!!!!!!!!!!

Pop Quiz

Today in class I retook the pop quiz because I was absent when we took it for the first time.  Hopefully it improves my grade because the first test dropped my grade all the way to a "c".  Which was very frustrating.  Thankfully faith brought in Oreos which was amazing because I was starving.  Then the rest of the class was spent going over people's group project that they did when I was absent.   It was very informative but some of the presentations they just read off the screen.  It was interesting to see how different "charity" organization spend there money.  We found some companies that spend an enormous amount of their money for "administrative" purposes.  Other then that my day was pretty regular nothing special happened.  but I might have track practice so that would stink.

ANOTHER ONEEEE

TODAY I HAD ANOTHER SHADOW. THATS JUST CRAZY AT THIS POINT.  But my soccer coach gave me a really good idea to ask Mr.Maynard if I can start using them for service hours since I have had so many and it does sort of mess with my regular day.   Today we learned about three types of population pyramids: ~The Xmas Tree -developing nation -growth rate is slow -short life expectancy  ~The Box -developed nation -slow growth -low infant mortality -long life expectancy ~The cup -developed nation -negative growth -low birth rate -shrinking population -longlife expectancy  Here is a poem I thought you might enjoy I am Sam Sam I am That Sam-I-am That Sam-I-am! I do not like That Sam-I-am Do you like Green eggs and ham I do not like them, Sam-I-am. I do not like Green eggs and ham. Would you like them Here or there? I would not like them Here or there. I would not like them Anywhere. I do not like Green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-am Would you li

It 10,000 years to get a billion people. then 123 to get to the next billion then 33 years to reach another billion. Population Pyramids- We use population pyramids to analyze growth of fertility, mortality, and migration. For the population to remain the same the TFR must be: 2.1 Higher then 2.1: rises Lower then 2.1: falls The .1 comes in for the women who do not make it to the age to bear children are counted in the record of people being replaced which is why it must be a little over 2 to keep a constant rate of people. Today I had a shadow.  she was very friendly.  She had a lot to say throughout the day.  We go to the same church.  I was very sad today.  My best friend was not at school.  She was ill.  I hope she feels better.  I miss ranting to her during the day.  I was just informed, I have another shadow tomorrow.  Thats crazy.  Snapchat is broken.  Also, Owen brought cake into class today.  It was good.  I saw him in the play.  The play was very good.  I wish I sin
